So Busy!!!!

When I last left you I was running out the door to Bunko. I will try to update you in one quick blog....

Let's start with Bunko, fun as usual, as if a night out with your girlfriends could be anything other. Here are some of the topics we touched on...Posh, summer reading, our friend's leukemia, husbands, Big Brother, children, mothers-in-law, the up coming season of Project Runway, boob jobs and tummy tucks, we could solve all the problems of the world given enough time!
For this next part, beware, this is how I talk and without taking a breath!
We stayed home this past weekend the forecast for the shore was not looking bright...we went to the athletic club/pool on Saturday, MBM and I worked out, ate lunch in the cafe, MBM took the girls to the pool and I went to Costco...I will never go to Costco on a Saturday afternoon again!...Sunday was rainy, I slept in while MBM ran 22 miles in the pouring rain...we cleaned out the guest bedroom, Emma will soon be moving into her own room, more on that later...that clean up lead to a major clean up/out of all the storage areas of our house...we had a lot of junk...I have been sewing a lot...I finished and shipped bags for two weddings, seventeen bags in all...
I finally, after 3 years, with my machine have all the components for embroidery...I skipped the classes and taught myself how to use it...I've been monogram something everyday...I took my first Spinning class at the gym, Holy Crap, after the first 15 minutes I thought I was going to pass out, puke, or cry...I finally started to drop some weight from all this working out...the sunflowers that MBM and Caroline planted from seed, bloomed by the playhouse...

Lulu went to the shore with my parent today, we will meet her there on Friday...The big girls are in Theater Camp this week, as if we need more drama in this house...I bought a cutting table for my studio, best $50 I have ever spent!...My friend started her treatment this week, so far so good!

Okay that should do it!

Cousins

This past weekend we had a big dinner on Saturday night at my parents house. My cousin and her family were visiting from Virgina Beach which always warrants a get together. My cousin, Dori, and I are nine months apart in age and we grew up three houses apart from one another. Each of us have a brother, so we are like sisters. Anyway, it was fun!!!

Here are some pictures!

The girls on the "little beach" with Quin.

Christian...he is too cute for words!

My cousin Mark and his fiance Erin.

We capped of the weekend with our annual trip to the boardwalk for pizza, rides, and ice cream!

We are staying put this weekend. I am going to try to get some of my "list" completed!

My husband took the girls to my Granny's assisted living apartment for a Luau...he is sweet, I know. For me tonight...Bunko! Got to go get ready!

Bye!

Mommy's Time Out

Thank you all for the words of encouragement. The whole thing is just so sad. He was just a baby and I can't help but feel for his mother. The loss is too much. And then, Emma...anyway, thank you!!! We have spent the last few days just being together... Tuesday night, I hosted a very last minute "girls " get together. MBM is out of town for the week so, I thought..why not?! On top of everything else this week, one of "our girls" was diagnosed with leukemia. She is 37, a wife and the mother of eight year old boys. Her prognosis is good. The type of leukemia she has has a 90% cure rate...and she is TOUGH!!!!! She starts treatment this Monday. Snacks, DRINKS, and girl talk is just what we needed! And last night, Caroline and Emma each had a friend over for a sleepover. Our first! All the girls were great. It was the first sleepover for both of our "guest"...the excitement...sooo sweet! And I was so proud of my girls for including their little sister. We are headed to the shore...MBM is meeting us there late on Friday...my plan is to refuel this weekend!!!! I'll be back next week in better spirits!!!! Best to all! h.

Jackson

We got very bad news last night. One of Emma's classmates died in an ATV accident on Sunday. He was seven. I was not going to post about it...too, sad. I told Emma this morning. I explained how his body was too hurt, doctor's couldn't fix him, so he went to be with God in Heaven. She was sad and she cried. I told her that it was ok to be sad and miss him, but, when we think about Jackson we should be happy and remember all the things we liked about him. She told me some stories about Jackson... How he would sing into his banana at lunch, he was good at sports, how he had trouble with math facts and he tried so hard. I don't know his parents and the funeral is going to be family only. I am going to send them a note. I told Emma if she wanted to send a note the Jackson's mommy and daddy I would help her. Emma agreed and started to work right away. She asked if the note would go to Heaven. I explained that the letter would be for Jackson's parents. Then, she asked if Jackson would see it when he came back. My heart sank. The she looked at me and said, "Is he ever going to come down?" She didn't understand. We have spent most of the morning talking about it. Question after question...about the accident, about Heaven, about his family, about him, did it hurt him to die. I answered as honestly as I could. I think she gets it. Better now, anyway. I am not sure now, should I have told her? I just didn't want her to hear it from another kid and be confused.

Weekend

We were at the shore for the weekend, again! A short weekend for us, Friday to Sunday. Normally, our weekends are Thursday until Monday, sometimes Tuesday! We are VERY spoiled!

The girls were like little naturalist this weekend! On Friday, just after we arrived they found some ducklings and fed them from the dock with MBM.
Saturday, after a short kayak ride we headed to the beach. The girls found 7 baby hermit crab in a tidal pool. They were planning on starting a Hermit Crab Farm, but by Sunday afternoon they were down to 5 crabs. After some convincing and tears the girls left them go back into the water, make new friends and get the bigger shells that they need!

Emma in her pajamas saying good bye to Shelly!!! Go... Shelly... Go!!!!

This week MBM is headed to Orlando for meetings...the girls and I are going to do lots of girls stuff! Including a trip to Target, sleepover guest for Caroline and Emma (give me strength) and I am having some girls over for drinks and snacks, too! Then we are headed back to the shore on Thursday for a nice loooong weekend!!!

Tom and Cindy!

Do you remember this SNL skit? Well, I swear they taught my Body Pump class this morning at the gym. Only imagine them in spandex!!! They are a husband and wife team that teach all sorts of classes...yoga, spinning, pilates, you name it! I have seen them around the gym and they make me giggle every time I see them. Tom and Cindy...the banter between the two of them had me laughing my a$@ off, which made the class fly by! I am defiantly going to be a regular in their classes. If only I could really laugh my a$@ off...

Hot...Hot...Hot

I think the weather is effecting me...melting my brain and sucking the energy right out of me! We headed to the gym early, I have to get back in to the swing of things. I did a class, OUCH, then took the girls to the pool until lunch. Then off to "Just Us Girls" camp for the big girls and errands for Lulu and I....back home for dinner. I am spent! No work for me tonight...no laundry, no sewing, no nothing!!! It is 6:25 and I am considering getting in bed! And what is on the agenda for tomorrow? An exact repeat of today!!!

We came home from the shore late on Friday...had to squeeze one more beach day in! We had a great week, most of our friends were their for the week, too! Three generations of friends... hard to explain, but here it goes, Generation One...my parents and their friends (actually my dad's friends since Kindergarten) there are roughly 6 couples/families in their "crowd" as they refer to themselves. Generation Two...my generation, all the children from GEN One, let's see, 14 of us, plus spouses, ranging in ages 30 to 40. And then there is Generation Three, our children, there is a lot, 25 and one on the way, between the ages 0-13...one of us got an "early" start! We spend every weekend in the summer together since we were children. This was Gen One's 44th Fourth of July together...the are old! Here are some pictures from the party!

Some of Generation Three

Some of Generation One

Lulu dancing to YMCA

Emma and Megan wearing the same shirt...they thought it was so funny!

Caroline and Erin on the dance floor/porch!

After the fireworks, Generation One takes Generation Three home so, Generation Two can stay and "play" there is karaoke and dancing and someone usually makes a complete fool of themselves! LOVE IT!

We are home this week, the girls have a camp called "Just Us Girls"...charm school! We can use a little reinforcement in the manners area every once and awhile!
