Go Phils!

MBM and the girls are off to an afternoon Phillies game with their cousins. There will be hot dogs, ice cream, and lemonade. The best part...after the game the girls can run the bases at the Bank! (Notice Lulu's choice of footwear...red patent leather clogs and mismatched socks...
MBM put her crocs in the car...clogs are not the best for running the bases!)

I am just tying up some loose ends around here and then the pup and I are headed to the shore. Of course, I have a few stops to make along the way....Costco, we are dangerously low on the main ingredient for our after the beach cocktails!!!!...And then, because I am CRAZY, I have to stop at a mall, sort of on the way to the shore, I am in pursuit of a lunch box for Caroline to match her school bag. After calling all the Limited Too stores in the tri-state area I finally found THE lunch box and they only have one. Should be interesting with the dog and two bikes on the back of my car...I will need a drink by the time I arrive at the shore!

Only this weekend and Labor Day weekend left...BOOHOO! Once school starts so does Saturday lacrosse and soccer. So no more shore for us until Thanksgiving! This weekend is jam packed with activities...we have a family pool party and MBM has another Tri on Sunday. I am planning on spending the whole day on the beach Friday and Sunday after the race!

In other news, I have been working on some new stuff for fall and have been loving my monogramming machine. Towels are so much more fun with a name on them, these are gifts, we have had a baby boom among our family and friends the past two months!

Tooth Fairy

This just cracks me up...the missing tooth...and she is such a ham!

It has been raining here for two whole days. I have to say that it has been great to be stuck inside and I have been very productive. Yesterday, I cleaned the whole upstairs...changed all the sheets, clean and vacuumed all the bedrooms, cleaned the bathrooms. Cleaned out and organized the girls closets, again! Did ALL the laundry and even put it all away, which is a major feat itself.

Caroline and I went to the orthodontist today for her first visit. What do you think? Braces in her future?

For now she will get an expander and braces on her four front teeth. Her mouth is already jam packed with teeth and she still has six more permanent teeth to get...she is soooo excited to get the braces!

MBM is headed to the Phillies game tonight, so that means a trip to the mall is in order for the girls. We need to get the last few things for school so we can head to the shore for the weekend!

More tomorrow!!!!

102

As usual, I am a day late and a dollar short...well, in this case, two! I missed my 100th post. Came and went, and I didn't even notice. I do this with birthdays, too! Remember a day or two later! So, in celebration of my 102nd post I wanted to take the opportunity to say, "THANK YOU!" This has been so much fun...reading, commenting, posting! I have learned so much, been inspired, and have made some friends along the way! I occasionally check my site meter to see who is reading my blog! I love that I have readers as close as a few miles away from my home to overseas! Please, stop by to say hello and tell me where you are from!

Home Again...

But, not for long! We came home from the shore late last night to a steamy house and an empty fridge. Today, I took the girls back-to-school shopping. We were up and out early...In our travels we hit Target, Gap, Pottery Barn Kids, Stride Rite, The Limited Too (yuck), Bath and Body Works, Nike, and Polo! They are all set for the first day new clothes shoes, school bags, lunch boxes, and supplies! We went out for a late lunch/early dinner and then finally went food shopping! Fun day, except for some "differences" in the fitting room at the Limited Too! The girls came home organized all their new goods. I am in my studio to get as much sewing I can get done in the next two days! We are headed back to the shore...I am trying to squeeze in as many beach days as possible before Labor Day!!!

Vacation

We are at the shore for our "vacation"...I know we have nerve saying we are on vacation considering we are here all the time! But, this week MBM is, off the clock, so to speak. So that means limited emails/conference calls.

Saturday, MBM had a race here in Sea Isle City. This Island Run sponsored by the SIC Beach Patrol, a ten mile run on the beach at low tide.
I love this race...

(that is mbm, in the orange, taking water from ALL the kids...them he let them all pour the water over his head)
A. Our beach is a water station, the kids all line up to give water to the runners, so cute!!!

B. Since the race is local I know so many runners...love cheering them on!

C. It always warrants a beach party! Which means Happy Hour on the beach!!!! So while all the runners are trudging by we are enjoying delicious cocktails and snacks! Four generations at this years Beach Party, the youngest Shannon 9 months and the oldest Sam 90 years old!!!!

MBM finished 111th out of 1163 runners!

Sunday, the girls and I headed back to Pennsylvania for my sister-in-law's baby shower. As you may already know, my sister-in-law and brother-in-law adopted a baby girl in late June. My girls were thrilled to help open all the presents for their cousin.

Painting Predicament

As I mentioned in my previous post, Emma will soon be moving out of her shared bedroom into her own room. I was so inspired by this website. Fun right! This kids' room (the 4th one)specifically! I LOVE everything about it...the paint treatment, the bed, the fabric!!!! Love it, love it, love it!!!! Emma has selected her fabrics...not my first choice, but she loved it! And she would like the main color in her room to be blue...I am thinking more of an aqua...Mermaid Tear to be exact! I am going to attempt to recreate the headboard myself, I have the materials and the tools, it is the skill I am lacking! But, what the heck, what do I have to lose? Here is where the painting predicament comes in to play. I am a bit of a paint snob. I ONLY ever use a specific brand which is local to the Philadelphia region. And there is a shop just a few mile away from my home. I have bought paint there for every room in my house and two beach houses. I bring my friends there when I am helping with paint colors and fabric. I am there so often they give me a contractors discount. I know everyone that works there, I know their name and they know my name and my kids names. The manager, Kerry, is always mixing custom colors for me. The best part is that it is so close so when I get the itch to paint I hop in the car and go! So imagine my surprise when I drive by and see a HUGE for rent sign in the window! After some investigation, I learned they are gone and the closest store is 20 miles from my house. That will not work and Kerry, where is she? So my question is...can anyone out there recommend a paint brand?
