This and That

The interview went well yesterday...I think! I have never interviewed for anything other than teaching positions and well, this is really equal parts decorating and sales. There is one other candidate being interview today. They hope to have a decision by the end of the week. I really want to job and I thing I would be successful. It will be a HUGE adjustment for our family. MBM is so supportive. He keeps telling be if this is something I really want, we will work it out. But, I will be fine if it doesn't work out!

Let me see what else...
...allergies have been awful for all five of us...I have been sewing like a maniac...girls had dental check ups today, not one cavity living in this house!..Emma's birthday and First Communion are on Saturday, haven't done much to prepare...lacrosse tonight = crazy dinner night, that means whatever goes, cereal, waffles, grilled cheese...

These are something I have been working on for the Flower Market...I am hooked on these wristlets. They will be a staple for the summer!

***Summer Swap hosted by Alex at "Running Just as Fast I Can"...should be fun!***

Limbo

This morning, I sit here in Pediatrician Limbo. Caroline was up all night coughing, poor thing, so I kept her home. This she is not happy about, the girl loves school and hates to fall behind. Although, she is glued to the Today show, Matt Lauer is in Amsterdam. I keep getting, "Mom, did you know....?" Of coarse, some of the content is a bit sketchy, but it is flying over her head. And well, then there is the Hannah Montana pictures, she thinks, "They are totally inappropriate and I am disappointed she made such a bad choice!" HOORAY...I think I am raising a prude! Okay, so back to Limbo! I called the pediatrician at 8:00 it is currently 8:59 and they still haven't called back to schedule a sick appointment! I had my whole day planned...get my 2 miles in on the treadmill before my 9:30 class, have lunch with Lulu, get some sewing done and then I have a THIRD interview late this afternoon. So, I sit and wait for the phone to ring... ******UPDATE****** We are headed to the doctor at 10:30. That will leave me plenty of time for some sewing and figure out what I am wearing for this interview...it is chilly here today! Caroline is already bored at 9:22 and Lulu just realized that Caroline didn't go to school!

Weekend

If you have been reading the past few weeks you know that our weekends have been all about lacrosse...this weekend was no different! The girls had a game Saturday and Sunday, both games we had to travel. Saturday wasn't too bad. Sunday was a haul! Both days cold and damp, finally, I have figured it out to pack efficiently for the weather...winter coats, blankets, coffee, snacks and activities for Lulu!
The girls won on Saturday...10-1, I was glad the other team at least scored. We had a big crowd for the game that day, both sets of grandparents, Granny(my grandmother), Uncle French Fry(MBM's brother), Aunt Patti and Uncle Buzz(MBM's aunt and uncle)...quite a cheering section!
Sunday we lost. Not sure of the final score, the team we played was VERY serious....TOO serious for my liking! We spend a lot of time cheering the girls on and laughing, because they are girls from 1st to 4th grade, there is A LOT to laugh about! Our coach is a dad of on of the girls on our team...he is great! Very mild, encouraging, not concerned with the score of the game, focusing on the girls learning the game. Which is EXACTLY what the league is about at this age.
The other team had two coaches...their coaching style VERY different than our coach and any other coach we have experience this season. I think they went to the Bobby Knight Coaching School of SCREAMING and Intimidation tactics!

Our girls were paralyzed by the yelling. It was unbelievable...if that were my husband I would be mortified!!!! Anyway, our girls held their own and eventually tuned the screamers out. I was felt myself getting so angry...they are 7,8,9,10 year old girls learning the game!
Our team in the pink with their matching hair ribbons(courtesy of Emma)...they look so cute playing how can anybody holler at them?
I figure we will see these guys on the Today show someday defending themselves for their ridiculous behavior!
Okay, that is enough about lacrosse.

This weekend we also...went out for pizza and outlet shopping on Friday night...MBM and I went to a fundraiser on Saturday night...cleaned out the girls closest...Lulu has a RIDICULOUS amount of summer clothes...she didn't need a stitch when we went shopping!

On deck for this week...a lot of sewing and preparing for my BIG EVENT next week, and preparing for Emma's First Communion. And I am not going to think about "the job", well at least try not to!

Interview, Part Two

Well, I'm back from my second interview. It went well, but, for some reason I am feeling nervous, now! AFTER the interview! I have issues.

Anyway, here is the job description:

Our talented In-Home Consultants work with customers who have larger labor project demands or greater design needs. Working both at the store and in the home of customers, our In-Home Consultants use their creative talents to guide customers in the selection of fabrics and custom treatments to help customers create the rooms of their dreams. We seek individuals with strong fabric knowledge, custom labor experience, proven sales ability and excellent time management and organizational skills. After completing our extensive in-house training, our In-Home Consultants have all the resources they need to build a meaningful and rewarding career.

I feel very confident that I would be good and would LOVE it! I think, I am nervous because there is another candidate (maybe even more than one)and I will be disappointed if I don't get it AND I am also nervous that I WILL get the position. Again, I have issues!

There were two people conducting this interview. We had a very nice chat, then lots of questions and then a few role playing exercises...UGH!!! They set up the scenario and played the client and I was the designer. I have no idea how I did but, I smiled the whole time so hopefully that will count for something!

It was fun to get all dressed up, again...I am sure the girls at Starbucks thought I had a real job. MBM was my fashion consultant last night. After several options from the A-Line Skirt Capitol of the World, also known as my closet, it was decided that I would sport a pear green skirt, crisp white shirt, these shoes, with a chunky green bead necklace, and I carried the bag below, which, I made this morning!

The next step, if I should move along to the next step, is another interview. I asked when they were hoping to make a final decision...they said ASAP...so...we will see!

On the way home I decided to do some shopping, as the girls refuse to stop growing!

What's New...

Our weekend, was again, lacrosse, lacrosse, lacrosse with a First Communion Retreat thrown in there just to shake things up. The girls are loving it and I am really enjoying watching. I am going crazy without my camera. Last week I went on a class trip with Caroline and took my old Cyber Shot...good in a pinch, but just not the same! I have been sewing like a nut to prepare for a BIG event that I have been trying to get into for a few years. Finally, weaseled my way in and now I am starting to panic. It is a three day event, I would like to bring a minimum of 100 bags plus other stuff headbands, belts, baby stuff. If you are in the Wilmington, Delaware area May 8,9,10th stop by the Cottage Industries tent for a visit! I am looking forward to break after the Market...my house is suffering! Our cleaning gal, who I am sure I have mentioned before, is on leave for 8 weeks...she is have surgery...enhancement surgery, lucky girl! Besides the house being filthy I have a slue of projects I want to do. Paint, make new curtains and pillows, refinish a few pieces of furniture, rearrange a few rooms, etc... And each day I add something new to the already LOOOOONG list. I am going back for a second interview on Thursday...fingers crossed! I'll be back tomorrow or Wednesday looking for some fashion advice! Until then! h.

Unimportant

Thanks Wila's Way for the tag! RULES 1) You link back to the person who tagged you. 2) Post these rules on your blog. 3) Share six unimportant things about yourself. 4) Tag six random people at the end of your entry. 5) Let the tagged people know by leaving a comment on their blogs. Here it goes... 1. I have to wear socks...almost all the time...as soon as I get home I change my shoes and put on socks, I wear them to bed (even in the summer) 2. My favorite time of day is bedtime, my bedtime! 3. I can't walk in a room without turning the lights on first, not even one toe goes in before the lights go on. A little OCD, don't ya think? 4. I watch entirely to much TV when I am working. 5. I am addicted to Skinny Cow mini fudge pops. 6. I can't stand Barbies...and Lulu loves them! That was harder than I thought! I am tagging anyone that want to share some unimportant thing about themselves!

Our Weekend

Most of our weekend was spent on a lacrosse field in some for or fashion. I took a million pictures, but, somehow my parents drove away with my camera...so, I won't be sharing pictures anytime soon! The girls won their game 12-8 on Saturday...WOOHOO. Caroline score a goal and Emma had an assist. Emma also ran toward the wrong goal, which had us in stitches on the sidelines. Sunday we had a full day of lacrosse events here! The girls started with a lacrosse clinic...then our team tailgated before going to cheer on the Blue Hens. Our girls were so excited, as they attend the Blue Hen lacrosse camp during the summer and LOVE their coaches, which are UD players. Emma and I were on our way to the bathroom when the UD team was headed into the stadium. One of the "coaches" saw her and came out of line to give Emma hug and chat with her....so sweet! You would have thought Emma had just met Hannah Montana, she was so excited and of course rubbed it in her sister's nose! Let's see what else did we do this weekend? Oh, yes...our house guest! Our ten month old niece, Lilli spent the weekend with us. She is the sweetest little thing, so easy, and just loved watching her cousins. I was EXHAUSTED...EXHAUSTED! I have forgotten how to change a baby, bathe a baby, dress a baby, pack a diaper bag. Let's just say I am out of practice and went to bed at 8:15 on Saturday night to recover! We have a crazy busy week ahead of us! I can't wait for school to be over! Anyone else sick of homework, projects, and packing lunches?

And for the weekend... ...going to a jewelry party tonight ...having a house guest. ...lacrosse. ...lacrosse. ...lacrosse. HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!

A Spring Saturday

MBM and the girls planting some seeds...an annual activity for them!

They planted sunflowers, daisies, poppies(my favorite), snapdragons, basil, thyme, and rosemary. Lulu keeps checking to see if they sprouted yet...oh, boy!

Lacrosse was rained out today...we kept busy in my studio...lots of ribbon and hot glue..more on that later!

Remember this? Well, I have an interview on Tuesday morning! I have been working on a "portfolio" of sorts all evening. I'll share that with you soon, too!

Hope you had a great weekend!

Order in the Court

Remember this and this?

Well, today was a big day! A great day! We kept the girls home from school so they could witness the adoption finalization of their cousin Lilli!

Waiting to go into the judge's chambers. Of course, no pictures during the seven minute hearing.

My SIL and BIL and niece. They offically changed her name today. It was so strange hearing the judge and lawyer refer to her as Savannah, the name the birth mother gave her. She has always been Lilliana to us!

That is Lulu...cheering outside the court house! Then back to Lilli's house for a little celebration!
