Mommy's Time Out

Thank you all for the words of encouragement. The whole thing is just so sad. He was just a baby and I can't help but feel for his mother. The loss is too much. And then, Emma...anyway, thank you!!! We have spent the last few days just being together... Tuesday night, I hosted a very last minute "girls " get together. MBM is out of town for the week so, I thought..why not?! On top of everything else this week, one of "our girls" was diagnosed with leukemia. She is 37, a wife and the mother of eight year old boys. Her prognosis is good. The type of leukemia she has has a 90% cure rate...and she is TOUGH!!!!! She starts treatment this Monday. Snacks, DRINKS, and girl talk is just what we needed! And last night, Caroline and Emma each had a friend over for a sleepover. Our first! All the girls were great. It was the first sleepover for both of our "guest"...the excitement...sooo sweet! And I was so proud of my girls for including their little sister. We are headed to the shore...MBM is meeting us there late on Friday...my plan is to refuel this weekend!!!! I'll be back next week in better spirits!!!! Best to all! h.

What a rough week! I'm so sorry about your friend. But what a great success rate for her kind of leukemia...

I'm sure your friend really appreciated your impromptu get-together. I hope her treatment goes well and that you find some peace at the shore this weekend.

Know that your friend is in prayers. I wish her all the best. My sister was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in Oct 2000. She was 2 1/2 pregnant at the time. She had just lost a baby a few months earlier, too. This pregnancy she lost as well. Her cancer was stage 4. She is with us now and still going strong. She is stubborn and strong and she had a bone marrow transplant come Aug 28 it will be 6 yrs.
You are a strom person there for your child and your friend. Just make sure that you tend to your needs as well.
